Barcelona is a good city for shopping. It has an excellent fashion scene, from trendy boutiques offering limited edition items to high street fashion and designer stores (and their outlets!) Electronic equipment, mobile phones, computers and accessories are easily found in specialist shops and in larger department stores.

There are several shopping centres, such as Maremagnum, Glories, Diagonal Mar and La Maquinista with an extensive variety of shops and services under one roof. Don’t miss the smaller local shops though, with hand-crafted souvenirs and gifts, or specializing in one product which could be anything from hammocks to handbags. Shops in the city centre tend to stay open all day, whilst outside the centre they close for lunch from 2pm-4.30pm. Nearly all the shops remain closed on Sundays.
